Fitness Instructors will be responsible for leading individuals or groups in fitness-based activities, ensuring proper technique, safety, and an engaging training experience. The Fitness Instructor should be energetic, patient, and capable of motivating participants of all fitness levels. This role is responsible for guiding and developing participants through fitness-focused training. The Fitness Instructor will design and implement conditioning-based programs, provide instruction and feedback, and foster a positive environment that supports physical development, confidence, and overall wellness. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Teach fitness-related skills, conditioning methods, and movement techniques to a wide range of athletes in both individual and group settings Instruct and coach children while they engage in group and individual fitness activities Prepare and lead a variety of age-appropriate fitness and conditioning activities Monitor, evaluate, and enhance athlete performance, endurance, strength, and overall fitness needs Provide suitable feedback through positivity, encouragement, example, and motivation Demonstrate activities clearly by breaking down exercises, movements, or techniques into manageable steps Maintain friendly and courteous interactions with athletes, parents, and venue team members Identify athlete strengths and areas for physical development Ensure a safe environment for all participants to avoid accidents or injuries during fitness activities Prepare and sign all certificates and course record sheets, as required Implement lesson plans in an accurate, creative, positive, and efficient manner Maintain fitness equipment and ensure its proper and safe use Stay updated on current trends and best practices in fitness instruction and coach training Perform all additional duties assigned by management
At least 2 years of experience coaching, teaching, or leading fitness or sports programs for athletes of various aptitudes Ability to adapt instruction and coaching techniques to different fitness levels and age groups Model good behavior for participants as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, respectfulness, and healthy habits Neat in appearance and professional in manner Must have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills Must be a team player Must have excellent leadership and motivational skills Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominantly after school and on weekends Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Must possess current CPR/First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain within a specified period Must be at least 18 years of age Passion for fitness, sports, and athlete development WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high Must be able to move or lift lightweight equipment Position requires standing and activity for extended periods of time, indoors or outdoors, including squatting, stooping, jogging, or bending into awkward positions while performing job functions
