Ability to work independently and flexibility to accommodate a rotational schedule, including 24/7 availability. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills, allowing effective interaction with KS staff, students, parents, and the public. Proficient in computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and email, and able to learn, operate, and monitor CCTV systems for recording and review purposes. Competence in typing and computer use for detailed incident reporting.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a security, police, or emergency response role. Security experience within a K-12 school environment. Knowledge of security-related software and applications customarily used in the field. Specialized training in Crisis Intervention, drone operation, defensive tactics, or similar programs. Physical and Mental Requirements Frequently writes by hand, stands, walks and lift/and/carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 50 pounds. Occasionally sits, performs desk-based computer tasks and requires ability to grasp using light or fine manipulation Frequently twists, bends, stoops, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp firmly. Working Conditions (including environmental conditions) This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business. Work is conducted in a school environment and regularly requires work to be conducted in non-standard, outdoor environment. Work assignments may be conducted 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
