Job description

Flowers Early Learning is a high-quality preschool located in Millburg (Benton Harbor Twp.), Michigan and is currently looking for an Infant/Toddler Home visitor, serving home based classrooms with children ages 0-3.

Position Summary

Coach and partner with families about parenting, health, nutrition, and child development through weekly home visits so families become more effective educators of their children. Plans and implements curriculum, on-going observation, assessment and child outcomes systems consistent with program policies, developmentally appropriate practice, and the Head Start Performance Standards.

Job Type: Full-time, Year Round (12 months per year), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Expected Schedule

  • Monday-
  • Friday, 8a-4:30p, 40 hours per week. Work hours may vary due to daily schedule.

Rate of Pay

  • AA: $18.40,
  • BA or
  • Higher: $20.94

Education Requirement

Minimum – Associates Degree with emphasis on early childhood education. Desired - Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on early childhood education. Must obtain a Family Service Credential within 30 days of hire, if not current.

Qualifications

Must have competency in verbal and written communication skills. Must have a personal driving record with not more than 6 active points as determined by the Secretary of State.

Other Selection Criteria

All candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and their own reliable transportation, complete a physical examination, comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screen including a negative result for Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (including Marijuana/THC), Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP). Marijuana is not legal at the federal level and is prohibited in the workplace or in one's system, even if legally prescribed.
