Overview of position

The 1st Grade Spanish Immersion Teacher supports the academic growth of students through the implementation of DLS pedagogy, comprehensive classroom management, implementing effective engagement strategies, and building authentic teacher/student relationships. The 1st Grade Spanish Immersion teacher is a contributing member of the Spanish Immersion Program and works closely with campus principals, instructional leaders and teachers, parents/families, and students to ensure measurable positive student outcomes. The anticipated start date for this position is 08/04/2026, however, an earlier start date may be considered. The selected candidate will report to the Whitman School Principal.

Pay and Benefits

Employees at DLS are compensated in accordance with other Denver-area charter schools. The annual salary of $57,120 to - $63,036. 8 days of PTO with an option to roll days to the following school year. PTO will be prorated to reflect a mid-year start. Can communicate with a wide range of students while providing scaffolding for all learners. Utilizes formative and summative assessments to determine student pacing and needs. Additional tasks and/or assignments to further the mission and vision of the school, as assigned. Requirements

Required Qualifications 3+ years of teaching experience Bachelor’s Degree in Education or closely related field Completion of required READ Act training Official college transcripts (evaluated by NACES member, if you completed your education outside the US) Passing score on Praxis 5001 within one year of hire Completion of required READ ACT Training Official college transcripts evaluated by a NACES member.

Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years of teaching experience Previous immersion or Dual Language Immersion teaching experience
