The Family Advocate is responsible for executing the Parent, Family, & Community Engagement component, focusing on School Readiness Goals and ERSEA compliance, which includes fieldwork, planning, record keeping, and training. Key duties involve identifying, recruiting, and enrolling families, managing a caseload to establish and achieve family goals, and coordinating community referrals.
A minimum requirement is a high school diploma with a study plan to obtain a Family Development Credential; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Candidates must have experience working with families of children aged birth to 48 months and possess skills in assisting parents with advocacy and decision-making.

The Family Advocate is responsible for carrying out the Parent, Family, & Community Engagement (PFCE) component of the program in connection with the partner’s School Readiness Goals (SGR), & areas of Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, & Attendance (ERSEA) as per the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) to ensure high quality service delivery in accordance with local, state, & federal regulations. Field work is required along with meeting families/planning/record keeping/training.
