Core responsibilities
The behavioral support specialist provides community-Based support to teach individuals with developmental disabilities essential life skills using best practices and technology. Responsibilities include creating prevention and support plans, completing functional assessments, training staff on plan implementation, and serving as an active member of the inter-Disciplinary team.
Requirements summary
Candidates must be able to handle public training pressure, work flexibly, and respond calmly to crises, utilizing ingenuity in determining support methods. A bachelor's degree is preferred, and obtaining registered behavior technician certification within 90 days of employment is mandatory, along with a valid driver's license.
