Head Start Teacher Aide

This position assists the head start teacher in facilitating learning for 3-5 year old children using an approved developmentally appropriate curriculum to promote growth in social, emotional, physical, and intellectual areas. Responsibilities include practicing active supervision, providing routine care like diapering and feeding, maintaining records, and collaborating on lesson plans and home visits.

Required education is a cda credential or an early childhood education general certificate plus 10 additional early childhood coursework credits, with an aa in early childhood education preferred. Candidates must pass background checks, demonstrate compassion for low-Income populations, and obtain certifications like first aid/Cpr and a food worker permit within 90 days of employment.
