KEYS Academy Paraprofessional

The paraprofessional assists in managing student behavior in the school setting and during off-Site activities while providing academic, emotional, and behavioral support to maximize instructional time. They implement routines, support student boundaries, assist with materials, and reinforce learning based on teacher direction and individual student needs.

Candidates must hold at least a high school diploma or ged and successfully complete a paraprofessional examination within one year of hire. Additional mandatory training includes competency-Based completion for universal precautions, de-Escalation/Restraint, safe transportation, medication administration, confidentiality, and ethics, along with current cpr/First aid certification.
