Therapeutic Support Staff

The therapeutic support staff assists students unable to function in their classroom by utilizing crisis de-Escalation techniques to return them to baseline and help develop plans for academic success. Responsibilities include conducting life space interviews, preparing incident reports, modeling de-Escalation skills, and implementing student support plans like icsp, iep, and bip.

A high school diploma or equivalency is required, though a bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience will be considered. Candidates must possess experience with children exhibiting significant behavioral challenges, be certified in therapeutic crisis intervention (Tci) upon hire, and maintain a valid new york state driver's license.
