Iñupiaq Language Teacher

The teacher is responsible for implementing research-Based instructional strategies to direct student learning and achievement, ensuring all instruction is individualized based on student differences. Essential duties include planning for instructional needs, implementing district curriculum to promote language and skill development, and practicing iñupiaq pedagogical principles.

Successful candidates should ideally possess an associate’s degree in iñupiaq studies and/Or education and an alaska teacher certificate (Type m – limited certificate). Fluency in iñupiaq is preferred, but conversational ability is required, along with knowledge of iñupiaq traditions and best teaching practices.
