This role involves assisting in administering the Respiratory Care program rules and policies in compliance with CoARC Standards, and assessing the clinical competency of students. The instructor will also cooperate in reviewing and revising clinical course materials and serve as a liaison between clinical education sites and the program.
Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in respiratory care or a related field, possess two years of relevant clinical practice experience, and be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for three years or more. Licensure in TN and MS, along with AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, are mandatory.
Baptist Health Sciences University's Respiratory Care program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). The university seeks to hire an adjunct Instructor (Masters Pending) for the Respiratory Care program at Baptist Health Sciences University. The person in this role will assist with administering the Respiratory Care program rules, regulations, and policies in compliance with current CoARC Standards; assesses clinical competency of Respiratory Care students; cooperates with the program faculty in periodic review/assessment, and revision of clinical course materials as needed; demonstrates knowledge of clinical education content for bachelor’s degree Respiratory Care program; and acts as a liaison between the clinical education sites and the program maintaining open lines of communication with the entity department leaders, communities of interest, and program director. This position is under the administrative direction of the Academic Dean and/or general direction of the Program Chair for the Respiratory Care program.
Holds, at a minimum ad bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) from an accredited institution in respiratory care or a related discipline appropriate for college teaching; documents two years’ clinical practicum/practice experience in the clinical area as relevant to clinical application of curricular content; credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist for 3 years or greater; RRT credential; licensed in TN and MS; and holds AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification.
Holds, a master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline or appropriate discipline for college teaching/administration; experience teaching in higher education; documents three years’ clinical practicum/practice experience in the clinical area as relevant to clinical application of curricular content (3 years of experience or greater working in adult and/or pediatric ICU preferred); credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist for 3 years or greater; RRT credential; licensed in TN and MS; and holds AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification.
