Technology Instructor

The technology instructor is responsible for developing and executing training plans for visually impaired clients on the use of assistive technology devices and programs, including creating instructional materials and assessing individual client needs. This role involves providing direct instruction on computer, tablet, and smartphone functions, tracking client progress, and coordinating with referring agencies to meet vocational goals.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation, education, or a related field, or equivalent experience, and must gain certification through the division of blind services within one year. Required knowledge includes various computer operating systems, adaptive software like jaws and zoomtext, and implications of visual impairments, alongside strong organizational and communication skills.
