Core responsibilities
The teacher advocate is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, providing a safe classroom environment, and delivering both classroom and in-Home instruction focused on school readiness. This role also involves close collaboration with parents to set goals, assessing child progress, supporting kindergarten transition, conducting home visits, and coordinating services for holistic child and family development.
Requirements summary
A minimum requirement is an associate’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with specific ece coursework, or an equivalent step 9 in the oregon registry online. Candidates must also obtain a family service certificate within 18 months (If applicable), complete teaching strategies gold training within 90 days, maintain current certifications like cpr/First aid, and possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
