Job Summary SchoolHouse Staffing is seeking a passionate and student-focused ESL / ELL Teacher for a full-time, in-person role at CICS Basil in Chicago, Illinois. This position supports students in grades K–8 and focuses on helping multilingual learners build academic language, literacy, and classroom confidence while achieving fluency in English. The right candidate will be able to deliver engaging instruction that strengthens reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills across content areas. Key Responsibilities Provide ESL/ELL instruction to students in grades K–8 Support students in developing academic language and literacy skills Deliver lessons that strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and speaking Collaborate with classroom teachers to support language development across subjects Assess student language proficiency and monitor progress Adapt instruction to meet diverse proficiency levels and learning needs Maintain accurate records, service documentation, and progress data Communicate with families and school teams regarding student growth and support strategies Required Qualifications Active ESL or ELL license required Experience working with multilingual learners in a school-based setting Strong understanding of language acquisition and instructional strategies for English learners Ability to support students in content access while building English fluency Strong communication and collaboration skills
