Early Head Start Teacher

The teacher is responsible for building on child and family strengths to meet school readiness goals while managing the classroom to create a stimulating and nurturing environment for child growth and development. Key duties include ensuring constant supervision, developing individualized lesson plans based on ongoing assessment, and establishing positive relationships with families.

Educational requirements vary significantly by teacher level (A through iii), ranging from a 90-Hour childcare certificate and experience (Teacher a) up to a master’s degree in early childhood education (Teacher iii). All levels require the ability to utilize computer systems, direct others, facilitate meetings, and accompany children on field trips.
