Assistant Professor (Special Education)

The assistant professor will fulfill tenure-Track teaching expectations by teaching 12 credit hours per semester, which includes developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate special education courses. Responsibilities also involve providing academic advising, attending meetings, fulfilling service expectations across the department and university, and maintaining scholarship expectations.

Candidates must possess a doctorate in special education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field (Abd considered if doctorate is obtained by june 2027), along with a master's in special education or a special education license/Endorsement. A minimum of 3 years of k-12 teaching experience, including one year at the elementary level and one year supporting students with high-Incidence disabilities, is required, alongside a dedication to inclusive teaching practices.
