Position Summary

Northside Charter High School seeks a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the past and understand its impact on the present and future. Through engaging lessons and critical discussions, the teacher will help students develop historical thinking skills and a deeper appreciation for global and cultural perspectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Curriculum Delivery

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in history and social studies, including U.S. history, world history, government, and economics, as applicable.

  • Professional Responsibilities:

Consistently adhere to all deadlines, including the timely submission of lesson plans, the accurate and up-to-date maintenance of the gradebook, and the completion and submission of teacher reports by designated deadlines. Demonstrate punctuality and maintain a professional demeanor and outlook daily.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification for secondary social studies/history (or ability to obtain certification before the start date).
  • Strong knowledge of historical content and pedagogy.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in History, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) history or dual-credit courses.
  • Familiarity with integrating technology into history instruction.
