Position Summary
Members of the Lower School faculty are responsible for planning and delivering instruction that is attentive to individual students’ intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual needs in accordance with the school’s philosophy, and for establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for academic growth. Teachers of grades 3-5 strive to create an environment that encourages joyful learning through inquiry and supportive instruction utilizing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), workshop models guiding language comprehension in reading and writing units of study, the Institute for Multisensory Education’s Orton-Gillingham structured literacy program for morphology/advanced spelling instruction, and Singapore Math methodology. Teachers appreciate each child as a unique individual, building on interests and igniting curiosity about the world.
Duties and Responsibilities
