Core responsibilities
The school nurse establishes and maintains a comprehensive school health program, supervising classroom nursing staff and assisting in student assessment and direct nursing care delivery during the regular school year and extended summer program. Responsibilities also include collaborating with educational professionals, participating in iep development, and providing classroom instruction on health and safety topics.
Requirements summary
Candidates must be a new jersey licensed registered nurse, preferably holding a certified school nurse credential, and possess a bachelor's degree. A minimum of 1 to 3 years of pediatric nursing experience and a cpr instruction certification are also required qualifications.
