  • A Day in the Life as an Early Head Start Lead Teacher: As the Early Head Start Lead Teacher, you’ll play an essential role in providing all aspects of a quality child development program with emphasis on the cognitive, social and emotional development of infants and toddler.
  • The Early Head Start Lead Teacher is responsible for supporting the agency’s mission by meeting the childcare needs of families and involving parents in the education of their child.
  • Your day will involve: Developing and implementing a curriculum that is consistent with current NAYC accreditation practices.
  • Designs and maintains a classroom environment that meets the Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Accreditation, and NH State Childcare Licensing regulations.
  • Engages in adult-child interactions that are responsive, supportive, and respectful of children’s needs, development, and play interests.
  • Complete all necessary administrative responsibilities such as reporting on development bench marks for children, completing screening tools, documenting curriculum plans.
  • Your role will directly contribute to positive employee experience and efficient operations across the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications to Be an Early Head Start Lead Teacher: To excel in this role, you’ll need: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent credential, Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential for Infant/Toddler Caregivers, or equivalent credential *must have infant toddler child growth and development coursework or equivalent coursework according to NH State Childcare Licensing.

Experience

Previous experience working in an early childhood classroom with supervisory duties preferred.

Skills

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with infants, toddlers, and their families and ability to relate comfortably to income-eligible families.

Characteristics

Attention to detail, confidentiality, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace and early childhood classroom experience.

Technical

successful completion of criminal record check, CPR/First Aid Certification. Must be 21 years old.
