Head Start Teacher

The teacher must ensure the physical and mental health and safety of children while providing responsive care and effective teaching aligned with the head start early learning outcomes framework. Key duties include using prescribed curricula for developmentally appropriate learning experiences, contributing to child assessments, and engaging parents in their child's development.

A minimum of an associate's degree is required, though a bachelor's degree is preferred, with potential training for those currently enrolled in college. Candidates should preferably have two years of early childhood classroom experience and must be able to meet physical demands like lifting up to 60 pounds and working flexible hours including nights and weekends.
