Substitute Teacher

The substitute teacher is responsible for assisting in the education and daily program of a head start or early head start classroom, including implementing program functions and ensuring a safe environment for all children. Key duties involve assisting with educational experiences, providing individual attention, reporting concerns like child abuse or illness, and maintaining cleanliness.

A high school diploma or ged is required, though two years of related preschool classroom experience is preferred. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with families, possess working knowledge of business english, be computer literate, have reliable transportation, and pass required background, driving, and health checks, including the ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
