Head Start Teacher Assistant

The primary duties involve ensuring the physical and mental health and safety of children while assisting in providing responsive care, effective teaching, and an organized learning environment aligned with the head start early learning outcomes framework. This includes implementing prescribed curricula, supporting child assessments, engaging with parents, and maintaining compliance with all safety and training standards.

Required education includes a high school diploma or ged plus completion of a child development associate credential (Cda) or enrollment in a program leading to an associate/Bachelor's degree. Candidates must be able to respond sensitively to diverse populations, maintain professional composure, pass background/Health checks, and be physically capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and engaging actively with children.
