The school nurse is responsible for implementing and managing the school health program, providing direct care, and serving as a health advocate for students according to district policy. Duties include administering medications, coordinating management systems, developing health plans for medically fragile students, and participating in crisis intervention teams.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited professional nursing education program and hold a valid registered nurse license to practice in texas from the state board of nursing. Applicants are also required to be cpr certified and possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
