Peer Recovery Coach- School of Medicine, Emergency Medicine

The peer recovery coach responds to individuals in the emergency department or hospital setting who have experienced overdose or substance misuse challenges, upholding recovery principles in all interactions. This role involves providing direct peer support, facilitating connections to local recovery communities and treatment services, and supporting affected family members and allies.

A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement, coupled with active certified addiction recovery empowerment specialist (Cares) certification or eligibility for it. The role requires providing in-Person support, including some travel primarily for initial training in gainesville, ga, and ongoing work within atlanta.
