Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

The role involves actively monitoring the pool area for safety while also instructing swimming lessons according to established ymca guidelines and lesson plans. Responsibilities also include maintaining hygiene standards, building relationships with participants and parents, and conveying information about aquatics programs.

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old and possess required certifications including cpr for the professional rescuer, aed, basic first aid, emergency oxygen, and american red cross lifeguard certification. Ymca swim instructor certification or equivalent is preferred, and the required ymca swim lessons instructor certification must be completed within the first year.
