- Job Summary
The Classroom Aide supports the mission of St. Joseph Catholic School, Cottleville by assisting the classroom teacher in providing a positive, faith-centered, and academically enriching environment. This position helps implement daily activities, ensures student safety and engagement, and models Catholic values in word and action.
Job Responsibilities
Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
Provide support to individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and during other school activities.
Help maintain an orderly, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
Support classroom management and student discipline in alignment with school policies.
Prepare instructional materials and organize supplies as directed by the teacher.
Assist with classroom clerical tasks such as copying, filing, and organizing materials.
Promote and model respectful behavior, kindness, and Catholic values in all interactions.
Communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents as needed.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and faith formation activities when required.
Uphold and support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Job Requirements Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
Practicing Catholic preferred, or respectful of Catholic teachings and willing to support the school's faith-based environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Must pass background checks and complete diocesan safe environment training.
