Core responsibilities
The therapist plans and administers therapeutic treatment, behavior modification, and stress management therapy to help residents develop appropriate behaviors, while also consulting with specialists and maintaining contact with external agencies regarding client progress. Key duties include developing individualized treatment plans, monitoring behavior, and implementing appropriate discharge planning with residents and families.
Requirements summary
Candidates must be licensed or license-Eligible in virginia as an lpc or lcsw, holding a minimum of a master's degree in a human services field like psychology or social work. Experience with young males aged 12-17 who have developmental delays, asd, and significant psychiatric symptoms is preferred, and all candidates must pass required restraint and crisis intervention training.
