Classroom Assistant Teacher

The assistant teacher supports the lead teacher by carrying out daily classroom activities, which includes engaging children in group activities and assisting with essential routines like toileting and meal preparation. They share responsibility for promoting children's development across cognitive, physical, social-Emotional, and self-Help domains, and must take full lead responsibility when the lead teacher is absent or at shift end.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with either six or more college credits in early education or child development, or one year of experience working with young children aged birth to five. Desirable qualifications include participation in early childhood professional development programs or obtaining a child development associate (Cda) degree.
