Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Under the direct supervision of the teacher, the Associate Teacher Pool will fill in for the absent staff and will assist in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. The Associate Teacher Pool shall maintain positive relationships with parents, children and co-workers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive; employees will perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, director and/or hospital administration as required.
  • Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
  • Assist with documentation and record keeping EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: o Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED o Meet federal as well as Texas State Requirements and maintain credentials for the position PREFERRED: o 15 hours of Early Childhood and one-year related experience in a child development center including experience with the NAEYC Accreditation process CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. Food Handlers Certification must be obtained within 1 week of hire. CPR and First Aide Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Languages Until all children are well. Driscoll Children’s Hospital and its specialty centers, urgent care centers, and after-hours facility serve a vast area covering 31 South Texas counties. The hospital is a 191-bed tertiary care center offering 32 medical and 13 surgical specialties.
