As a Paraprofessional at AMS, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and helping ensure all students have the tools and support needed to succeed academically and behaviorally. Working alongside lead teachers, you will assist with instruction, classroom management, and student engagement while helping maintain a structured and positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support campus-wide activities such as lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal to ensure student safety Support lead teachers in delivering instruction by assisting with lesson activities, classroom management, and transitions Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning, reteach concepts, and support academic growth Assist in maintaining classroom structure, routines, and positive student behavior Substitute for lead teachers when necessary to ensure continuity of instruction Prepare instructional materials, organize classroom resources, and assist with basic data tracking Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student academic and behavioral success Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Model professionalism, patience, and high expectations in all interactions with students, staff, and families Qualifications & Competencies Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and successful completion of the paraprofessional exam, OR Associate’s degree (or higher) Previous experience working with children in an educational or youth setting preferred Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish Ideal Candidate Attributes: Passion for working with students in diverse, underserved communities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude Strong sense of responsibility and reliability Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow Why Work at AMS?
