Job description

  • Position Purpose We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Early Head Start (EHS) Teacher to join our team and make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families.
  • In this role, you will nurture the social, emotional, intellectual, language, and physical development of children from infancy to three years old in a safe, inclusive, and supportive educational environment.
  • You will work closely with families to build strong partnerships, helping them set and achieve meaningful goals for their child's development and school readiness.
  • This is a 12-month position that offers the opportunity to make a difference every day.
  • Key Responsibilities Child-Centered Learning Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities tailored to the needs of infants and toddlers using research-based practices.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes curiosity, exploration, and learning.
  • Conduct regular observations and assessments to document each child's growth and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Family and Community Engagement Build strong, collaborative relationships with families, involving them in all aspects of their child's development and education.
  • Work with parents to identify long- and short-term goals for their children, offering resources and support to achieve them.
  • Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress, providing guidance and encouragement.
  • Health and Safety Ensure a clean, safe, and organized learning environment that adheres to health and safety regulations.
  • Respond to the needs of infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting, in a nurturing and respectful manner.
  • Follow emergency preparedness and safety protocols.
  • Professional Growth and Collaboration Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and program staff to ensure cohesive support for children and families.
  • Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and a positive attitude in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Program Compliance Keep accurate records, including attendance, assessments, and other documentation required by the program.

  • Minium Qualifications We welcome diverse candidates who meet the following criteria: Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field, or Current National, or Texas based CDA (Infant), or A minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood Education/Child Development AND must be willing and able to obtain a CDA within 6 months of hire.
  • Positive, motivating, and energetic personality with a passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to become certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to pass all criminal history background checks.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are a plus but not required.
