Requires a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology and NYS certification/license, with ASHA certification preferred. Candidates must have at least one year of experience working with pre-K-12 students with developmental disabilities.
Provide individual and group speech and language therapy in person . Provide diagnostic speech and language evaluations and screenings. Write, maintain and chart records of children approved for speech and language services. Confer with classroom teachers in preparing daily speech and language activities for children in the Special Education Program. Complete initial and ongoing evaluations. Develop and implement IEP goals and objectives. Provide direct play-based child oriented therapy. Help supervise individual children and groups (progress monitoring) Complete reports, therapy notes, progress monitoring, and logs according to applicable time requirements. Supervise the Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) staff working under their direction, and complete supervision documentation. Requirements and Education: Requires at least one year experience working with students pre-K-12 with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of diagnostic, assessments and report writing. Familiarity with therapeutic diagnostics, assessments and report writing. Familiarity with therapeutic approaches dealing with language, articulation and oral-motor skills. Masters Degree in Speech Pathology. NYS Certification, license. ASHA Certification preferred.
