- Program (SYEP): Funded through the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 to 24 with paid, summer work experience and project-based learning opportunities for up to six weeks in July and August. Participants work in entry-level positions across a variety of sectors and industries, and are provided with workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy, continuing education and other life skills. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Under the supervision of the

- Facilitator will: Design and facilitate interactive project-based learning workshops related to positive youth development, such as life skills, leadership skills, work readiness, financial literacy and higher education and healthy living Facilitate workshops both in-person and virtually. Coordinate the scheduling of guest speakers, community service opportunities Maintain participants’ attendance and progress Complete data entry weekly and submit reports as needed Attend meetings and professional development training as required by CPC and funders Fulfill other related duties as outlined by the

- QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
- Education and
- Experience: College student majoring in education or social science preferred, but not required Prior experience working with high school youth in a classroom setting; knowledge of teen and immigrant issues helpful
- Skills and
- Competencies: Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Knowledge of MS office applications and virtual platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Webex. Bilingual; fluency in English and any of the following languages Arabic/Chinese/Spanish.
