Assists the teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate educational activities while ensuring the safety and supervision of children. Supports the social, emotional, and physical needs of students and coordinates parent activities.
Requires a High School Diploma and at least six months of experience as a classroom volunteer or substitute in early child care. Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and respond quickly to active children.

1. Assist the teacher in planning, implementing and evaluating the operations of the classroom and educational related activities.
2. Provides appropriate staff-child interactions and also supports the social, emotional, physical and developmental needs of each child.
3. Active participation in educational opportunities for professional growth, including meetings, trainings, conferences and meetings.
4. Work cooperatively with all staff in meeting Head Start Performance Standards and other compliance mandates.
5. Assist in coordinating parent activities and events.
6. Attend parent and staff conferences as required.
1. Adhere to Alliance for Community Empowerment Inc. policies and procedures related to prevention and response to COVID-19, including participating in training, use of PPE, implementation of universal precautions, social distancing, and keeping workspace clean.
1. Assist with daily health screening, monitoring as related to COVID-19.
1. Ability to respond appropriately to an emergency or crisis situation.
1. Physical ability to monitor and respond quickly to children who are very active and may need redirection in order to ensure their safety or the safety of others.
