Job description
- Overview A lovely family of three in Brooklyn is seeking a fantastic nanny to care for their infant daughter, born in April.
- The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm, 40 hours per week.
- The family is seeking someone to start full-time by the end of July when the mother returns to work, but they are also happy to have someone start immediately on a part-time basis if available and interested.
- The family lives in a 4th floor brownstone, so candidates must be comfortable with stairs, though all of the baby supplies (stroller, etc.) are stored on the first floor.
- This is a true infant-focused nanny position, and the family is seeking a seasoned nanny with substantial experience and a strong understanding of early development who is confident working alongside parents and other caregivers.
- The family is seeking someone who wants to be with the family for years to come!
Responsibilities
Handle all infant care, including managing sleep and feeding schedules Wash bottles and sanitizing toys Reinforce family values- curiosity, confidence, grit Prepare and introduce solids when the time comes Keep baby spaces organized and tidy Monitor nursery inventory and working with parents to maintain supplies Get the child out and about on a daily basis (weather permitting) including walks and trips to the park, and scheduling classes and playdates as she gets older Communicating with first-time parents about milestones and development Provide expertise and recommendations, while also working as a team with parents
Qualifications
Engaging and creative, and willing to read to the baby and facilitate developmentally appropriate learning activities as she gets older Familiar with Brooklyn and proactive in planning activities and outings Knowledgeable about infant and childhood development Warm, kind, and loving Professional and communicative Able to work around a WFH parent Looking for a long-term commitment Adaptable and flexible- able to educate but also collaborate, with an understanding that there many different ways to get to the same goal
Requirements
US work authorization Newborn experience- must be very comfortable caring for children as young as 1 month old Excellent communicator CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to get certified immediately Up-to-date on infant vaccines including TDap, and willing to get annual Covid and Flu boosters Long-term experience and excellent verifiable references Salary and Benefits $35-43/hr.+, DOE Healthcare reimbursement PTO OMNY pass
