Job Description
Educational Support Instructor Title: Educational Support Instructor Supervisor: Educational Support Director Classification: Non-exempt Description: The role of an Educational Support instructor is to provide students with direct instructional support using the Response to Intervention framework. The Educational Support Instructor is accountable for promoting standards-based literacy and numeracy instruction across the content areas using a multi-tiered approach and evidence-based interventions. Spiritual Qualifications: Demonstrates a passion for Christ and his Kingdom through personal spiritual discipline and public ministry. Seeks to grow in that relationship with Christ through personal spiritual discipline, education, accountability and service to his Kingdom. Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, minimum Training as reading specialist or special education experience preferred Knowledgeable about learning challenges Knowledgeable about special education Experience working with children who struggle to learn Self-motivated CPR/First Aid certified Obtain certificate of negative result for TB screening prior to hire Areas of Expected Proficiencies: Provide students with direct intervention support Teach and coordinate Tier 2 & 3 intervention for Educational Support Students Provide small group academic support and intervention for English language arts and/or math skills Collaborate with classroom teachers to guide student support, and to aid more in effective classroom instruction CPR/First Aid certified Obtain certificate of negative result for TB screening prior to hire Other Expectations: Actively and collaboratively participate as a member of the Educational Support Program team and school faculty Keep phone and email communications responsive Attend faculty in-service training in educational best practices when appropriate Attend and participate in school-wide events, including, but not limited to Orientation Week, Back-to-School Night, Vision Night, Open House, etc Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications
