Job Summary/Basic Function
Under direct supervision of the Head Coach and Director of Athletics, to assist with coaching of the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams and all facets of the programs, with specificity around throw events.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist the Head Coach with the organization, administration and implementation of the programs. 2. Assist in recruiting student-athletes and in scouting opposing teams. Assist in organizing and supervising practices and meets. Assist in monitoring academic progress of student-athletes. 3. Assist in directing pre-season conditioning program for athletes; travel with the team as required. 4. Coordinate training programs and event strategy for throwers and multi-event athletes as assigned by the Head Coach. 5. Assist in fund-raising and promotion activities for the programs; perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach. 6. Assist in the development and execution of community engagement and community service for the programs. 7. Assist in maintaining a programmatic balanced budget as assigned by the Athletic Director. 8. Assist in the development, promotion and execution of camps and clinics as assigned by the Head Coach. 9. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2.
- Experience in coaching at collegiate or high school level required.
- 3.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of institutional, NCAA and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rules, policies and regulations.
- 4.
- Knowledge of recruiting in State of Michigan and ability to judge high school players for talent to participate in Division II college track and field.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Collegiate experience as an athlete or coach in the throwing events. 2. CSCS Certification.
Physical Demands
Adequate health and fitness to maintain long hours, full schedule, and travel with teams, as required. Ability to represent the University in public appearances, promotional and recruiting activities.
Work Hours
In addition to Mon-Fri, weekends and evening expected.
