In This Role, You Will empower students to discover their potential and pursue excellence, academically, personally, and spiritually, through high-quality teaching, purposeful movement, and authentic care. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional collaborator and team player, have strong knowledge of physical education pedagogy, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering physical literacy, wellness, teamwork, and sportsmanship across grade levels. Ideal candidates will also be well versed in strategies that promote student engagement, perseverance, and a growth mindset, and will be willing to go the extra mile for students. Candidates should be organized, detail oriented, and skilled at planning developmentally appropriate lessons that support all learners. Academics Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned physical education instruction for the high school students using high-quality curricular materials, instructional best practices, and a balanced approach that builds motor skills, fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits. Foster physical literacy, wellness, and sportsmanship through engaging, active, and inclusive lessons that promote movement, skill development, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, providing whole-group, small-group, and individualized support while using academic standards, fitness benchmarks, and student data to guide planning and adjust instruction. Monitor, assess, and document student learning and physical development through formative and summative assessments, using results to track progress, inform instruction, and improve student outcomes in fitness, skills, and cooperative play. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to align programming, support school-wide initiatives, and contribute to community-building activities, including health, fitness, and wellness events across the school. Classroom Environment and Student Relationships Seek out opportunities to integrate Biblical truth with their lessons. Integrate character education and/or faith-based values into daily lessons. Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environment. Manage classroom behavior in a consistent and effective manner, promoting courage, respect, integrity, and perseverance through the development and maintenance of positive relationships with students. Serve as the cultural and spiritual model for their students, always interacting respectfully and striving to demonstrate God’s love to their students and families. Effectively communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior, and needs. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students. Professionalism Be open to coaching and feedback to continuously improve teaching practices and support positive student outcomes. Participate in ongoing professional development to implement instruction with fidelity. Collaborate as a team player and proactively offer solutions as challenges arise throughout the school year. Bachelor's Degree in physical education, kinesiology or a related field, including any other requirements for accreditation, (Master’s degree a plus).
