Job description

Overview Speech Language Pathologist – Long Term Care specialty, in a school-setting in Federal Way, Washington. Start date: 09/02/2026. Contract duration: 41 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,356 to $2,478 per week.

Shift

5x8 days (08:00–16:00). This is a travel - temporary assignment through Healthforce Healthcare LLC, serving students across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct Speech-Language Pathology services to students in a school setting, including evaluation, treatment planning, and therapy sessions
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments, screen as needed, and contribute to IEP development and goal setting
  • Implement evidence-based therapy techniques for articulation, language, voice, and fluency as appropriate; document progress using district data systems
  • Collaborate with teachers, school psychologists, and other allied health staff; participate in IEP meetings and progress reporting
  • Maintain accurate, confidential student records and ensure compliance with district policies and state regulations
  • Communicate with families regarding evaluation results, progress, and recommendations

Requirements

  • Active Washington State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Ability to work in a school setting and adapt to classroom schedules; capable of navigating a multi-classroom environment
  • Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with district credentialing requirements
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
