What You'll Do Supervise toddlers (19 months–3 years) in a safe, nurturing environment Plan and lead age-appropriate activities and learning experiences Provide constant supervision during play, meals, naps, and transitions Support, mentor & collaborate with Assistant Teachers, trainees, and support staff Guide positive behavior, encourage exploration, problem-solving, cooperation, & social development Prepare classroom materials and environments to support curriculum Assess individual and group needs, strengths, and interests Monitor and report suspected child abuse Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development Share classroom cleaning and sanitizing responsibilities Maintain compliance with State Licensing, Health Department, and Fire Marshal standards What We Are Looking For
Minimum two years of experience in a licensed child care facility Child Development Associate (CDA) or college degree preferred Knowledge of childhood growth and development Ability to apply child development principles to individual needs Licenses & Certifications AHA Heartsaver CPR and First Aid certification (within 30 days of hire) Montana Early Childhood Project Practitioner Registry (within 15 days of hire) Infant Safety Essentials (within 30 days of hire) and Health & Safety Required Professional Development (within 90 days of hire) Complete mandatory 16-hour annual training and maintain required St. Peter's Health and State Child Care Licensing immunizations Skills & Attributes Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Genuine passion for working with young children with a calm, patient, and reassuring approach Sound judgment and critical thinking focused on child safety Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Collaboration and communication with staff, families, and community partners Ability to maintain a safe environment and respond effectively in classroom and outdoor settings What You Can Expect:
