Position Title

Kindergarten Teacher Reports to: Chief Executive Officer and Principal Term: Ten (10) month position, salaried COMPANY OVERVIEW Are you a passionate and creative global educator looking for a culturally rich environment where you can make an impact? With a groundbreaking school design that centers our children as world travelers and change agents, we deliver rigorous instruction that empowers scholars to take ownership over their learning while equipping them to compete on the local, national and international stage. POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teachers are responsible for providing direct instruction to all scholars. Teachers are responsible for the development of lesson plans and curriculum materials used to support the educational development of children. The teacher is responsible for demonstrating strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, as well as good organizational ability.

  • GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Work with students in small groups and large groups Collaborates daily in regards to student progress Acts as a resource person to teachers, scholars and parents Consults with school administrators, parents and other interested parties in the development and implementation of individual scholar plans Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence Maintain accurate records Identifying the educational needs of scholars and altering instruction to meet student needs Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems Teach socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement Employ strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of sensory- and perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, and to determine their priorities for their children Administer standardized ability and achievement tests, and interpret results to determine students' strengths and areas of need **Other duties as assigned by CEO, Principal, or Special Education Director*
  • EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: Education Certification A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and preferably a Master's Degree in the human services field Ability and willingness to work an extended schedule Proven ability to work well with children, adults and parents Demonstrated ability to analyze raw data and develop goals for students Experience working with a diverse population including low to moderate-income families. Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties required

Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience and levels of attained education.
