Deliver competency-based math instruction and personalized learning plans to help graduation candidates achieve academic success. Provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support while monitoring student progress and wellness.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Ohio 6-12 secondary certification in Mathematics. Candidates should have at least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with high school or at-risk youth.
The Role As a Math Content Coach (Math Teacher), you will serve as the primary instructional resource for our Graduation Candidates (GCs), delivering competency-based content, supporting personalized learning, and guiding students toward graduation and post-secondary success. You’ll work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support that empowers each learner’s journey.
This position is part of a new school launch, with hiring aligned to support the upcoming academic year.
Key Responsibilities Enrollment Support new GC enrollment through recruitment and engagement efforts Assist with the development of Personalized Learning Plans for GCs Retention Serve as an advisor for assigned GCs by maintaining communication with learners and their support team Monitor attendance, academic progress, and overall wellness to ensure consistent engagement and achievement Academics Plan and deliver content-area instruction in both individual and small group settings Monitor GC academic progress toward course completion and mastery using formative and summative assessments Analyze and use academic data to inform instruction and improve outcomes Provide remediation and enrichment opportunities to address learning gaps and accelerate success Participate in professional development, data meetings, and school/community events Advocacy Collaborate with the GC support team to develop personalized learning pathways, transition strategies, and incentive plans Represent the academy in community events and contribute to academy-wide initiatives Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the academy’s mission What We’re Looking For Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master's preferred Licensure: Ohio 6-12 secondary certification in Mathematics (REQUIRED) Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred) Skills: Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills Passion: A deep commitment to helping at-risk youth succeed academically and personally
Experience working in non-traditional or at-risk youth settings Bilingual (Spanish preferred) Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and alternative education models Experience with competency-based learning, instructional coaching, or project-based education Strong comfort with educational technology tools and platforms Why Join Us?
