Fellows are responsible for obtaining patient histories, performing physical exams, and developing management plans in a hospital setting. They will engage in clinical rotations, didactic lectures, and simulations under the supervision of attending physicians.
Candidates must have completed an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program and hold relevant national certifications. Current licensure to practice in Minnesota is required or must be obtained prior to the program start date.
HealthPartners is offering a 12-month postgraduate fellowship program to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in hospital medicine with a targeted start date of January 2027.
Through diverse rotations, didactic lectures, simulations, and structured mentorship, APC fellows gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary for a successful career in hospital medicine.
Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
Applicants may be in final year of completing this requirement with hiring dependent upon successful completion.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior inpatient experience in clinical rotations strongly preferred
Required Licensure/Certification: Current national certification by the NCCPA
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota
Current national certification by the AANP, ANCC or AACN
Current certification to practice as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota
Candidates are welcome to apply prior to having formal licensure and certification but must be obtained at least 3 months prior to start date of program.
