APC fellows will perform histories and physicals, develop differential diagnoses, and formulate assessment and management plans for cardiovascular patients. They will participate in diverse clinical rotations, didactic lectures, and structured mentorship to gain competence in cardiology.
Candidates must have completed an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program and hold current national certification (NCCPA, AANP, ANCC, or AACN). Valid licensure to practice as a PA or NP in the state of Minnesota is required.
HealthPartners is offering a 12-month postgraduate fellowship program to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in cardiology with a targeted start date of January 2027 (flexible).
The HealthPartners Cardiology Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Fellowship is designed to support new graduate APCs in their transition to practice or experienced APCs in their transition to a new specialty. Building on the American College of Cardiology APC Competencies as the foundation of the clinical and didactic curriculum, APC fellows develop competence and confidence in delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care to patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. Rotations provide exposure to multiple cardiology subspecialties and pertinent medical specialties.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
Applicants may be in final year of completing this requirement with hiring dependent upon successful completion.
Licensure/Certification Required: Current national certification by the NCCPA
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota
Current national certification by the AANP, ANCC or AACN
Current licensure to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota
