Job Description

Part Time Floating Early Childhood Assistant Teacher (Monday-Friday 9:30-1:30) Aspen View Academy is a PK-8 charter school located in Castle Rock, Colorado, with approximately 950 students. AVA is an energetic school, subject to changing work environments, adaptation of new educational principles and values, with a strong culture and high expectations for character development. Adaptability to change is essential, often demanding a commitment to flexibility, wearing many hats and pitching in where you can to ensure the best outcomes for students. Our Mission: Aspen View Academy (AVA) will succeed through academic excellence in a challenging and stimulating learning environment that emphasizes math, technology, and language arts, enabling our students to become critical thinkers, responsible citizens, strong community members and future leaders. Our Vision: We recognize that an education is incomplete without fostering the arts, sports, nature, and character. Together, with our students, faculty, parents and community, we will develop civic and personal responsibility, intellectual passion and differentiated instruction in a safe, orderly, balanced and nurturing environment. Position Specific Information (if Applicable): Aspen View Pre-K Floating Teacher Assistant will: Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following: · Treat children, families and staff with dignity and respect at all times. · Assist in supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of preschool children in various settings. · Assist supervision preschool children during lunch and rest time in all PreK classrooms. · Assist in preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies · Assist/supervise the classroom and playground. · Help with the general housekeeping tasks · Assist the teacher in other ways as requested (job related) · Always maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to AVA · Assist teacher with implementation of appropriate early childhood education experiences · Help teachers supervise and promote activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of children · Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom. · Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene. Assist children in changing clothes when needed. Encourage children to be independent in this skill. · Always supervise activities to ensure safety of students. · Complete 15 continuing Ed hours of Early Childhood Education throughout the school year. Essential Physical Requirements:  Occasional lifting five (5) to fifty (50) pounds  Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, sitting

Salary Range
