SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION Afterbell Staff is responsible for the ensuring daily operational needs of the School After Bell program. After Bell Staff are directly responsible for maintaining the After Bell program’s compliance with Leman Academy Norms and Scholar Expectations. As well as ensuring the health and safety of all scholars is being meet after school.
Afterbell Staff shall be directly responsible to the Afterbell Coordinator, Afterbell Lead and Site Principals in providing services required for the administration of the school in order to assure the smooth, efficient operation of after school care in Afterbell.
Afterbell Staff for Leman Academy serves in a pivotal role to provide care for all scholars enrolled in the Afterbell program within each site.
Completed application (Required) Minimum High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 12 months related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance. First Aid/ CPR Food Handler’s Card TB Test; TB test must be within a twelve-month period of the start date or a new test is required. Attend eighteen hours of annual training. Child Care experience preferred. Working Knowledge of childcare regulations and safety practices. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to positively impact the school community with an ability to build strong relationships. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with scholars, parents, co-workers, vendors and build relationships. Strong commitment to providing leadership in promoting health and safety, including a healthy environment. Ability to operate office equipment as required on assignment; i.e. fax machine, copier, computer, etc. Ability to lift boxes and packages of varying weights and move them to other locations.
and Areas of Responsibility: Ensure all Afterbell operations are in compliance with State Licensing childcare regulations. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for scholars and staff. Comply with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, childcare. Prep cafeteria/recess areas, as well as cleanup and maintain stock of any regularly needed materials. Supervise and monitor inside and outside communal areas of the school building as schedule merits, to ensure the safety and welfare of scholars. Follows all sanitation regulations and regularly maintains all work areas. Maintain familiarity with and adherence to Leman Academy behavior Norms and Expectations for scholars. Prep Afterbell areas, as well as cleanup and maintain stock of any regularly needed materials. Create a structured Afterbell program by following regular schedules, lesson plans, outdoor activities and ensuring all schedules/plans adhere to Leman Academy Norms and Scholar expectations. Assists scholars with homework, outside recess and scheduled activities. Help implementation of promoting positive behavior and accomplishing homework goals during Afterbell. Identifies disciplinary issues with scholars, administer warnings as needed and escalating disciplinary issues as needed to Administration and Principals. Identifies and resolves discipline issues within the Afterbell program on a daily basis, escalating issues as needed to Afterbell Coordinator. Develop and maintain effective client, vendor, family, and community-based organizations relationships. Ensures confidentiality and adherence to FERPA in all areas. Regularly participate in any staff training, continued education or staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. WORK HABITS AND ATTITUDES: Be a self-starter with an ownership attitude.
