Market context
In Virginia, vocational counseling roles often draw candidates with education, tutoring, or related support experience, especially when client-facing work and documentation are part of the job. These positions can be competitive because employers may look for a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and a mix of experience and education; this platform’s AI-summarized requirements and benefits help you review the original posting faster. Before applying, confirm your transportation setup and match your background to the stated experience and education range.
The Vocational Counselor matches consumers with local businesses and provides on-site coaching to develop workplace social skills. They also educate employers on reasonable accommodations and use digital tools to track client progress.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and at least 3 years of tutoring or general education experience. Educational requirements vary from a high school diploma with experience to a bachelor's degree.
