Head Start and Early Head Start Substitute Teacher

The substitute teacher will assist classroom staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment while supporting classroom activities and lesson implementation. Duties also include promoting positive child interactions, development, and assisting with daily routines and caregiving tasks.

A minimum requirement is a high school diploma with a commitment to completing a child development associate (Cda) credential within two years of hire. Preferred qualifications include a cda or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, along with two years of experience working with young children, especially with at-Risk populations or in head start programs.
