Special Ed Teacher GEMS School

The special education teacher is responsible for providing and supervising comprehensive educational services and interventions to meet the needs of all enrolled individuals. This includes planning, organizing, managing classroom activities, supervising non-Exempt personnel, and developing individualized education plans (Ieps).

Required qualifications include a ba in special education or education and nys teaching certification, with a willingness to obtain students with disabilities certification. Applicants must have experience working with individuals needing behavioral support and the physical ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical interventions.
